1500 1600 kVA dry type transformers are widely used in various applications, including local lighting, high-rise buildings, airports, ports, CNC machinery, and more. In simple terms, dry-type transformers refer to transformers where the core and windings are not immersed in insulating oil.

1500 1600 kVA dry type transformers have two cooling methods: natural air cooling (AN) and forced air cooling (AF). When naturally air-cooled, the transformer can operate continuously at its rated capacity for an extended period. With forced air cooling, the transformer's output capacity can be increased by 50%. This is suitable for intermittent overload operation or emergency overload situations. However, it's not advisable to operate the transformer under continuous overload conditions for an extended period due to increased load losses and impedance voltage amplification during overload, which results in uneconomical operation.

Note: The abbreviations AN and AF stand for "natural air cooling" and "forced air cooling," respectively.
